Buzz & Promotion Ideas
Please list your promo & buzz ideas here:
PR Agencies:
- Why not use PR agencies (and their clients) to look for sponsors and buzz ? Most agencies already support an NGO or Charity as their pro bono program.
- All of them have corporate clients who could be interested in sponsoring/helping with the Twestival in the context of their "CSR" outreach.
- I (@horationelson) can reach out to 3C (Belgian PRO Community), the BPRCA (Belgian Agencies) and the EACD (European Comms Dir.).
- Some agencies could even be interested to take the Twestival as their 2009 Pro Bono case...
- We could also approach e.g. RealWire (www.realwire.com) to do free distribution of 1-2 press releases.
Using Twonate to get some start up money
- Why not use Twonate (http://www.twonate.com) and our Twitter networks to rasie some funds for the start up of the event and running costs. It iseasily set up and can be used later on as well... Christian - I suggest you set this up, you need a PayPal address for the group to collect funds.
The Hub Network
http://www.the-hub.net/
Attended Hub Brussels meeting this week. Full of young social entrepreneurs and investors. They are advertising BRUTwestival on their own social network, Facebook page and in their newsletter. Also they are keen to host future Twestivals at their new venue (an old chocolate factory near Place Stephanie). It will be ready in September. [Cheryl]
Sponsors
All sponsors should be required to issue their own press releases about the event, so we leverage their own PR networks. See also the sponsors page.
Press Contacts - Journalists
At the last meeting, we pooled our ideas for Presscontacts. Thought it would be good to have a list here.
Le Soir - to be contacted. [Cheryl]
The Bulletin - to be contacted [Cheryl]
Jean-Yves Huwart, (freelance enterprise journalist, works for Trends Tendances and is CEO of www.globecorp.biz (bi-lingual EN/FR)) - Contacted [Cheryl]
Liesbeth Baeten, freelance journalist, Flanders. Actively looking for stories, especially around social entrepreneurship. - Contacted.[Cheryl]
Plans for a press release
The press release should be issued in Dutch, English and French so we can reach all the media types here. See also the communication material page.
Facebook event
There's suggestions by @seynaeve and @condons (I think). As I think they have very different networks + Edouard is Francophone & Stephanie is Anglophone, there is room for two pages!
@gculpin created facebook content for the last Twestival. Is there something still in existence that we can build upon? => Just let Greg know who has to be added as an admin of the "Brussels Twestival Group" in order for them to be able to create related events. Anyone can then invite their own networks to this event.

YES! Great idea. Please go ahead. And we are several to have the right contacts, I believe (e.g., Walter @brandcoach, Gregory @himselfprod, or Clo @bnox). This could take Twestival sponsorship to another level.

twonate seems similar to tipjoy. Looking at both sites, it doesn't seem twonate is a success (yet). Tipjoy has a proven track record. And tipjoy is an official partner of the (global) twestival. Shouldn't we go with them instead?
Besides, there was some discussion last week as to raising money for organization and running expenses. I think there was agreement that we should collect money for the Charity only.
Other/New thoughts?

Didn't know Tipjoy is official partner... so yes, it makes sense to use them instead. I'll go ahead and see if PR/Clients are interested... Is there a sponsor letter/pitch somewhere available ?

The Hub looks great and just round the corner from my house! We should keep in mind that there is another Twestival in February so if people can't help now there are always opportunities for them to help in February
